Today marks the 25th anniversary of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday (MLK Day). Americans across the nation will honor and celebrate Dr. King’s life with tributes, parades and service.
“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, What are you doing for others?”
In memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., MLK Day has become a Day of Service. For more information on how you can participate in 2011 MLK Day of Service – visit serve.gov.
While MLK Day has been designated a day of service, I encourage you to look for opportunities to make a difference throughout the year. Serving others in our communities helps us build stronger communities. How will you answer Dr. King’s urgent question in 2011?
Take the MLK Challenge
Given the significance of the 25th anniversary of the King holiday there has been a call to action to take the MLK Challenge. The MLK Challenge is a pledge to take 25 actions throughout the year – to make a difference for others.

Very nice and inspiring article… I just printed the list and will execute at least 25 honorable actions.
Thanks Mike! I’m glad you took the MLK Challenge. 🙂
