This year Black Friday promotions seem bigger than ever. With sales starting back in July and unexpected Black Friday ads leaked revealing rock bottom prices.
Are you ready for Black Friday? Do you even shop on Black Friday? My husband never does, he just watches the kids while I run from store-to-store trying to find the best deals on our shopping list. Oh, the joys of shopping with a purpose. 🙂
Although I’m not one to scuffle for a deal, which is probably why I never seem to get those TVs or laptops at unbelievable prices. I prefer to do a mix of in person and online shopping. I shop online to save on shipping and as an added bonus I’m getting double cash back from Discover on online shopping.
There are only 2 days left until Black Friday. And I thought I’d share some useful Black Friday articles and websites with you. After all, planning ahead is the key to taking advantage of the best deals anyway.

IMPORTANT Financial Tip: As with any other financial decision, I encourage you to do your research, evaluate your budget and place needs over wants. Black Friday and other notable sales days are a great time to take advantage of bargains, but be mindful of whether you need it first and plan ahead (shopping list). The goal is to save money on the things you need to buy.
Hi Kem,
Been a while since we spoke although I do stop by time to time to check up on what ” the Kem is cooking”. I see that you are offering black friday info. Just wanted to add a slightly different perspective on this whole phenomenon. I think you used the word “purpose driven” shopping and I find that that is the only reason to shop on black friday. Unless you have a specific need that you have been planning on, there is no real need to be spending money on black friday. There is often a tendency to buy stuff just because its a good deal. I just want people to understand that there is no law saying that you should spend money on black friday. Spend it only if you need it. This advice may not be appropriate were it a average year. But the economic environment is still such that, saving money is especially sound financial planning.

Hi Mr. T,
You’re absolutely 100% correct! I debated adding that tidbit in there more explicitly. Need based shopping is essential. That’s why I make a shopping list.
I’ll be sure to focus on your perspective in my next post. Until then I have added an IMPORTANT Financial Tip to stress the importance of need based shopping.
Thanks so much for taking the time to raise this important point!!! It’s very much appreciated. 🙂
Warm regards,
K
