“Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.”
– Thomas Edison
Sometimes things don’t go as planned. And as some people say 👉 Life Happens! No matter what the problem is, I want to encourage you to–Never Give Up and Don’t Quit (especially on y😊u).
The truth is we’re not always in control. There may be setbacks. As someone once told me, life is like a game of Chutes and Ladders filled with many ups and downs. That’s just the way it goes.
But it’s the way you respond to life’s challenges that matters most. It can speak volumes and determine your path forward. Your attitude can help turn the tide in a new and better direction.
There is so much going on in the world right now. It’s no wonder that some people have lost hope.
If that’s you, I’m glad you’re here. And I hope you’ll find the poem below helpful on this journey called life. While John Greenleaf Whittier wrote it hundreds of years ago, I believe the wisdom is timeless.
“Don’t Quit” by John Greenleaf Whittier
When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you’re trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don’t you quit.
Life is strange with its twists and turns
As every one of us sometimes learns
And many a failure comes about
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow—
You may succeed with another blow.
Success is failure turned inside out—
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell just how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit—
It’s when things seem worst that you must not quit.
