The other day I saw someone drop to the ground. I couldn’t believe my eyes at first. A few other people and I bent down to help him up. When all of a sudden, he popped up with tears in his eyes and walked off quickly. For this blog post, I’ll call him Adam.
As soon as Adam came back, I couldn’t help asking him what had happened. He still had tears in his eyes and was very emotional. “I finally got my house!” Adam exclaimed. You could see the happiness all over his face as he grinned from ear-to-ear.
You see, Adam had been trying to get a house for the last three to four years. But his credit was holding him back. This time it was different because the homeowner took a chance on him. Adam gladly showed me the approval text the homeowner sent him to tell him the unbelievable news.
Not long ago, Adam had almost given up on his dream of getting a house. That’s when his brother inspired him to make a change and have more faith in getting a home. After their conversation, Adam made up his mind to think differently and changed his mindset. And Adam’s thoughts, words, and actions shifted and became more positive. He said it had only been a little over three weeks since he started to have stronger faith and a better attitude about achieving his goals.
Adam went on to tell me how much he had struggled over the last year to pay his $1,800/month rent. It did not matter what happened; he always made sure to pay his rent on time. And his perfect rent payment history is why the homeowner chose him to receive the house.
Now Adam’s moving into the house he always wanted because of his commitment to pay his rent on time and his new mindset.
The Secret to Success?
Looking at Adam’s story, I think the key to making his dream come true required him to believe, be positive and take action to make it happen.
I love stories like this one! It doesn’t matter where you are on your financial journey. If you have the right mindset and commitment, you’ll be able to reach your goals too.
