Can you believe April is already here? I sure can’t. April is Financial Literacy Month. So that means Money Smart Week is just around the corner.
In Chicago, Money Smart Week is April 23rd – 30th this year.
You may be asking:
What is Money Smart Week? The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago started Money Smart Week® in 2002 to help consumers manage their personal finances better. It offers free financial education events to the public.
Money Smart Week events are open to the public at businesses, financial institutions, schools, libraries, nonprofits and government agencies throughout the country on topics including kids and money, unemployment, managing student debt and retirement. To learn more about Money Smart Week® visit, www.moneysmartweek.org.
Where is Money Smart Week? While Money Smart Week started in Chicago, today it has expanded to across the country. According to The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, more than 4,000 free Money Smart Week events will be hosted throughout the country on topics ranging from saving for college and managing student loan debt to budgeting and retirement. I’ll be conducting a few Money Smart Week events around Chicagoland and I look forward to seeing people come out. I’ve been a Money Smart Week partner for several years. I enjoy participating and seeing people of all ages so engaged. I hope you can check out some of the events being held in your area.
